Grade 100 (G100) chain slings are considered a high-performance choice in lifting applications, offering significant advantages in strength, durability and safety:

1. Strength:

(1) High load capacity: Grade 100 slings are typically made of high-quality alloy steel and undergo a special induction heat treatment process, which increases the working load limit (WLL) by an average of approximately 25% compared to Grade 80 (G80) slings of the same size.

(2) Smaller size, same load capacity: This means that a smaller diameter Grade 100 chain can be used to achieve the same load capacity as Grade 80 chain, reducing the weight of the sling and making it easier to handle.

(3) High safety factor: The minimum breaking strength of Grade 100 chain is typically four times the working load limit (safety factor 4:1).

2. Durability:
(1) Wear resistance: Due to its special alloy material and heat treatment, grade 100 chain has better hardness and wear resistance, which helps to extend the service life.

(2) High temperature resistance: Grade 100 chain slings are suitable for higher temperature environments, usually in the temperature range of -40°C to 200°C (-40°F to 400°F), and the working load limit will not be reduced. Under some standards, it can be up to 204°C.

(3) Impact resistance: Grade 100 chain is designed to have high impact and wear resistance.

3. Safety:
(1) Traceability: High-quality grade 100 chain usually carries a unique traceability code or mark, which ensures complete traceability from manufacturing to use, which helps safety management and inspection.

(2) Compliance with standards: Grade 100 chains and components typically meet or exceed relevant industry and regulatory standards such as NACM (National Association of Chain Manufacturers), ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), and ASME B30.9, and are approved for overhead lifting.

(3) Factory testing and certification: They undergo proof testing, typically to twice the working load limit, and are provided with relevant certifications.

(4) Color identification: Some manufacturers use a specific coating (such as blue or gray) on Grade 100 chains to easily distinguish them from Grade 80 chains.

Types of Grade 100 chain slings:

1. Single-leg chain sling:

Ideal slings with a single point of attachment for lifting loads. These slings are commonly used in construction, manufacturing, and mining.

2. Double-leg chain slings:

Double-leg chain slings are more stable and evenly distribute the load weight, making them ideal for a variety of lifting tasks.

3. Four-leg chain sling:
For heavy lifting, a four-leg chain sling provides optimal load stability and balance. This configuration is ideal for handling irregularly shaped loads.
